Self-aligning ball bearings for guide rolls in calenders
Examples of Application Engineering
Calender guide rolls, consisting of three segments, turn the paper web as is passes through a super calender. The individual segments are supported by low-friction self-aligning ball bearings. In this way the shell temperature near the bearings can be kept low. The bearings are relubricated through a lubricating groove and lubricating holes in the stationary inner ring. Lubricating greases with a favourable frictional behaviour that reach a long grease life are used.
